CNBC Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge Week 3 Results

Thanks again to all those who sent in their results.  Remeber, I'll collect weekly results at the end of every week, and post the results on Monday after market close.

This system produced more accurate results this week.  There was only one case where the value and the rank did not make sense.  Oh well.  This is all self reported, so I have no way of verifying or improving on the accuracy.

This week, we had yet another participant who is among the top 1% of all participants.

Our number one contestant is Ryan Wegner, whose portfolio value is an impressive $1,401,143.13 for a ranking of 738.  Very nice.

My observations:

• AGAIN!  There are no negative nellies.  Now I realize that the market has done well since the beginning of this contest, but still.  The law of averages says that someone should have bought a stinker.  Sadly, being a self reported survey, we suffer from potential under-reporting or mis-reporting.  Hopefully neither is happening.
• Even with my sad, bottom of the list results, I have still made a fictitious $27,134.37 in a mere three weeks.  Too bad I don't really have $1,000,000 to invest.
• If I put my results on the Celeb Traders list, instead of here, I would be #6.
• The Celeb leader, Stephen Collins, with $1,072,415.36, would rank #6 on our list.
