Back to School. It means back to school shopping, preparing your "what I did with my summer vacation" essays, and COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!! Woohoo! Well, since I haven't been in school for like a decade (Jeez, that doesn't make me feel old or anything), the football is the only one that I care about. Anyway, I digress. This is really just another PFblog weekly wrapup. So, go read these posts, 'cause next week, it's college football time!
Kimber at No Limits Ladies writes about Travel Souvenirs. Don't we all do this? We search for the best hotel rates, airfare, the best places to eat. We get to our destination with a budget in mind, whether splurging or hawking over our budget. We get there and where does the slow wallet drain go? The knick knacks, chochkies, keychains, spoons and magnets! What on Earth is all that crap for? But you can't come back empty handed. Well, Kimber has an awesome idea for the perfect frugal, useful souvenir. Go read it.
FF and Brownie at Financial Freedumb ran a poll asking readers Who Pays for the First Date? Without spoiling the results, I'll tell you that the woman got zero votes! Zero! What year is this? Anyway, go read the results.
Given my recent wedding planning, I found this post by Eileen at Something Strange and Wonderful very helpful and timely. She has some terrific advice on how to have a Frugal Wedding. Some of it is common sense, and some I have heard from many places. However, there are some gems in there. I especially liked her advice on decorations and the rehearsal dinner. Great job Eileen!
