Let's say this doctor was referred to you by a trusted friend, but he had a little weight problem. He started smoking in college, quit in his late twenties, but was still trying to drop a few pounds.
He had high marks in med school, came highly recommended by your friend whom he did great work for. Would the fact that he is still overweight keep you from following his advice?
It partially depends on his field, and how much overweight. If it's just a beer gut or normal middle age fat, probably yes. Especially since many doctors have highly stressful and hectic lives.
However, one of the doctors my mother (PNP) used to work for was grossly obese. He was probably 150-200 lbs overweight. If the doctor was that overweight I probably wouldn't see him.

I wouldn't want to judge their abilities as a doctor by their looks, however, in some ways, it is nice to know that your doctor practices what he/she preaches - and being healthy is a part of that.

Hmmm, interesting question. I think my initial reaction would be some suspicion, but I would listen and then make my decision. How overweight are we talking about?

It depends on the advice. If it's "work out, lose weight," then I probably wouldn't do it. On the other hand, if it's "yoga will help relieve your stress," and he's a happy go-lucky guy, then I would try yoga.
I agree with Amanda; I would trust a doctor more (and thus follow his advice) if he practices what he preaches.

My son's pediatrician is a very big guy. He is probably around 350-400 lbs and about 6 and a half feet tall. Does it bug me? No, although it did surprise me when I first saw him. Since meeting him, I found out that he was an ex-professional wrestler who had a career-ending back injury. Then he decided to go to school for medicine. Knowing that, he's probably always been a very big guy with a lot of muscle. After leaving wrestling, some fat probably came in and covered his muscles.
Doctors are human, and sometimes unless you get to know them, you won't know why they are the weight they are. I think people are too quick to attribute being overweight to being lazy or overeating. Sometimes there is a medical condition behind it too.
There's my two cents :)

I opine that to receive the personal loans from creditors you should present a firm motivation. Nevertheless, one time I have received a car loan, because I wanted to buy a building.

This is a good subject to talk about. Sometimes I fav stuff like this on Redit. This article probably won’t do well with that crowd. I will be sure to submit something else though.
