Specifically, it says ,"45% view Social Security as a 'main source' of funds for retirement." How scary is that?
If my math is correct, the oldest boomers turn 60 this year. Perhaps this is partly the cause of these results. If you surveyed our generation (I'm 32, which makes me Gen X, right? By the way, I hate that term, Gen X) you would find far fewer state that they expect to rely on Social Security at all. However, as we age and near retirement over the next few decades, the number is likely to go up.
Many who are not planning to fail will simply fail to plan.
