Well, February certainly turned in a wild finish, no? The volatility has been interesting, but has surprisingly little impact on my overall net worth. Part of it, of course, is the fact that I have a significant amount of my net worth in liquid money market or CD accounts. More later. For now, here are the numbers.
- For the month of February, I increased my net worth 1.42% and $2,227.44. As I mentioned above, I was not heavily impacted by the recent market volatility. The reason I have such a large amount in money market or CD accounts is that I plan to buy a house within the next 12-18 month. Also, we have a wedding to pay for.
- By the way, I'll post more later, but we put a deposit down on our wedding reception site. That was $1,000 above my normal spending.
- Also, we spent ten days in Orlando, Florida. Despite the fact that we managed to keep our food spending under control, we were still staying in a hotel every night, and going to theme parks almost every day. All this stuff costs money.
- The first three credit cards are current expenditures. Either business or personal expenses. Either way, they will, as always, be paid in full.
- The latter two credit cards are 0% balance transfers. I took out a new one this month. The GMflex card. I indicated on the application that I would like a BT, and provided one of my other card numbers. Well, I was approved for a smaller amount than I would have liked, but they had already transferred the maximum amount. So, I had a roughly $3,000 balance transfer. The funds went to the Emigrant Direct account, which is why that account increased as much as it did.
- In all, given the market drop at the end of the month, the wedding outlay, and the major vacation, I would say that this was a good month.

Looks like you didn't change the header on your column. I think it should be 28-Feb-07.

I can't believe you have been able to do such large ticket items like vacationing in Orlando and still pulling off increases. You are my hero.
I struggle to increase each month. No vacations or big wedding expenses to plan for. Thankfully!
