I like Starbucks. I like their coffee. Sometimes I even get the froofy stuff. I know that it is way overpriced, and it one of those "little things that add up" or more to the point part of the "latte factor."
I mostly just get the regular drip coffe, running me a buck fifty or so. And sometimes I keep my cardboard cup, and bring it in for refills. Fifty cents. But they don't give "refills" on caramel frappuccinos. So, here's a possible alternative.
Make your own! I know. I wouldn't have a clue where to begin making a ginger latte, or a mocha coconut Frappuccino! Fortunately, someone else has gone to the trouble of making it available to us. Let me give a little disclaimer here. I just stumbled on this site, and have not ordered from them. I cannot vouch for its legitimacy, service or quality. So, that said, here it is.
They claim to have recipes to all your favorite frappuccinos, macchiatos, and lattes. They even give the recipe for a basic frappuccino, free without download. A warning, the recipe includes something called pectin and arrowroot. I have no idea where to obtain, let alone how to use either of those products.
So, if you are so inclined and are jonesing for your Starbucks fix, but don't want to dish out four bucks each time, give it a try. By the way, if you download and try any of the recipes, let me know how it goes.
