Wow, what a weekend! Everything was just amazing. Not everything was exactly as planned, but that's all part of the fun, right? I'm not so good about keeping a secret, especially not this big. Afterwards, she said, "so, that's why you were so giddy all day!" Most of all, she said yes, and we are officially engaged. It will be a fairly long engagement. We're planning early 2008.
As far as the blog goes, I'm still just getting started, but I will obviously start posting more about the engagement process, planning our wedding, and most importantly, planning our marraige.
There was nothing financial in this post. However, I have heard that the single biggest financial mistake a person can make is to marry the wrong person. With that in mind, I just made the best and most important financial decision of my life.
I'll post tomorrow about the proposal, as I know a lot of you love that stuff.
CONGRATULATIONS!! Glad to hear it all went well. It will be interesting to follow the planning process. Hopefully the marriage and honey moon won't bankrupt you. I hear many people end up with tens of thousands of dollars in debt. But more importantly, you're happy. So have fun!

Congrats! Yes, planning a wedding and honeymoon is definately expensive, but if you set your priorities ahead of time and really consider different, unique ways to cut costs, its not as bad as you might imagine. Besides, you're only going to do this once!

Congratulations!!! I recently posted some thoughts about weddings, having planned my own a few years ago. Just things for you two to think about as you embark on this journey. Wishing you many happy years together!

I've never met you before but congratulations nonetheless. That's great news!
Do yourselves a BIG favor and talk about finances BEFORE you get married. That way, you can hopefully avoid the pitfalls that so many young married couples fall into.
I wish you guys the best.
